Jakob joined IRIS in 2025 as a Principal on the early-stage team in Berlin. He works with B2B tech startups across the DACH region and is particularly passionate about AI/B2B SaaS, industrial technologies, and energy. He loves partnering with ambitious teams to turn strong technologies into scalable, impactful businesses.

Before IRIS, Jakob was part of the investment team at UVC Partners, supporting founders all the way from pre-seed to Series C and building a strong footprint in the German ecosystem. He worked with companies such as Synera, Rencore, Enginsight, Fruitcore Robotics, DyeMansion, and Valuedesk.

Jakob also brings hands-on operating experience from Planetly, an ESG software pioneer, where he  launched a new ESG management SaaS for private equity firms and scaled the Financial Services business unit.

He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Munich, where he discovered both a love for technology and a passion for building things that last.
